Sandra Mckears Johnson
Duration 2.5 Hours
Class Level No previous experience needed
Despite being an age old tradition, the art of paper cutting is still going strong and is popular today. Many creative types use it to create those perfect cards for loved ones, as well as placing in a frame to give as a personalised gift.
Paper cutting is suitable for those who have a range of abilities, including novices.
During the 2.5 hour course your teacher Sandra will showcase some of her very own creations and great examples of paper cutting from other artists too, with a view to really getting your creative juices flowing and your own imagination racing.
After this you will have time to create at least one design of your own creation, using only a single sheet of paper. Once you have completed the paper cutting it will be backed with coloured card and presented to you to take home; ready for you to show off your newly found skills!
Some of the skills and techniques covered include
Design – How to design for a cut out
Cutting safely – How to cut the paper
Presentation – The final piece how to show it to its best advantage.
