Have a go at Silk Painting. You don’t need to be able to draw. I can’t and thses were my first attempts. With a bit of expert tuition from our Silk Painting teacher, Karen Lewis, I was soon mixing the colours and watching mesmerised as they run on the silk. I could become addicted to this. You can paint all sorts of things including cushions, ties, scarves, wall hangings and T shirts. Karen and I are having a Silk Painting Sunday tomorrow. Thank you to Alan and Steve at Bamber Sewing Machines for their help and advise in choosing the right model. We have eight Janome 423s machines.  A great machine for beginners and the more experienced and sturdy enough for a sewing school. Can’t wait to start trying them out.  ...

What Colour will you use on your Sewing Course? The stock is starting to arrive for the sewing classes. We got carried away and ordered ribbons in every colour imaginable. It seemed a great idea at the time but how do you store them so you can see what you have and also be able to use them easily? We put our thinking caps on, went for a trip to Ikea and came up with this idea. Using a kitchen utensil rail and some hanging baskets the ribbons are easy to see and use and add a splash of colour.      ...

Its been a long old day at Crafts Bee. Faced with 70 boxes of flat packed furniture there was no alternative but to get some experts in. Several hours later and lots of empty boxes the studio is taking shape.   All those shelves need filling with lovely hand made objects but the lovely, spacious studio is finally revealed.         The before shot. Welcome to the Crafts Bee website! Our website is now live!  The site is currently  in beta, this a phase in website development, where a site runs in a live environment and enables us to identify any further tweaks that may be required.
